Tour to the Baltic Capitals

Take a tour to the capitals of all three Baltic States and visit their UNESCO-listed old towns, see their castles in and outside the cities, and hear their history, stories and legends. A classical tour to the Baltic States with many optional twists... if you want! Contact us for details!

Day 1. Arrival in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Transfer to a hotel. Dinner. Evening activities on request.

Day 2. Walking tour of Vilnius Old Town: the Town Hall Square and Vilnius University, the oldest university in The Baltics, dating back to 1579; walking down Pilies street to the Cathedral Square with Gediminas’ Tower up on the hill right next to it, where according to a legend the city of Vilnius was founded; visiting gothic St. Anne’s church and historical-architectural ensemble of Bernardines, and other sights. Lunch. Afternoon tour to Trakai, a former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania with a beautiful castle in one of the islands of Lake Galvė. Dinner and optional evening activities.

Day 3. Departure to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Stop in the Hill of Crosses, a unique place with thousands of crosses. Lunch. Further drive to Riga with a stop to visit Rundale Palace in Latvia, an 18th century Duke’s summer residence designed by a famous Italian architect Francesco B. Rastrelli. Evening arrival to a hotel in Riga. Dinner. Evening activities on request.

Day 4. Walking tour of Riga Old Town: walking by the Riga Castle and the Three Brothers, three oldest dwelling houses in Riga, each dating a different century; visiting the Dome Cathedral which is a famous concert hall and St. Peter’s Church which will take you up to its spire to see the spectacular panoramic view of Riga; going to Livu square to see the old Guild Houses and back to the Town Hall Square with its beautiful House of the Blackheads which used to host the guild for unmarried German merchants; and other sights. After lunch you will have the afternoon to explore Riga on your own. Dinner and optional evening activities.

Day 5. Departure to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. En route stop in Gauja National Park to visit the medieval castle in Turaida which was built in the 13th century under the direction of Albert, Bishop of Riga; ruins of Sigulda castle; Gutmans Cave, the largest grotto in the Baltics; and other sights. Lunch. Further drive to Tallinn. Arrival to a hotel. Dinner. Evening activities on request.

Day 6. Walking tour of the walled medieval Tallinn Old Town: Toompea hill with a magnificent view of the Old Town and the Baltic Sea; walking down the narrow streets to the Town Hall Square and passing the Guild Houses of this Hanseatic city; St. Olaf’s Church with a spire that offers a panoramic view of the city; and other sights. Lunch. Afternoon tour to Kadriorg Park and Palace which Peter the Great built for his wife Catherine three centuries ago. Dinner and optional evening activities.

Day 7. Transfer to the airport in Tallinn. Departure.
